Wayne Lapierre
Defender of the First Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble...
I can't quite put my finger on it, but for some reason I've been feeling a bit uneasy about these specific first amendment guarantees. I find
myself
getting the jitters
at any public venue where there are a lot of people. Malls, churches, schools, concerts, theaters, just about anywhere
I go these days, I find myself nervously darting my eyes, always aware of the nearest exits and ready to run at a moment's notice.
But I know I owe a lot to this man. He keeps me safe.
